[가사 검열] 영화 <나폴레옹 다이너마이트> 中 “Canned Heat”

즉흥적으로 이루어지는 연주 행위인 Jam과 미국 원주민 부족 중 하나의 이름인 Iroquois를 합쳐서 그룹명으로 삼은 Jamiroquai.
영국출신의 Acid Jazz 그룹으로 출발한 이들은 1993년에 데뷰앨범 <Emergency On Planet Earth>를 발표하면서 대중에게 선을 보였고 영국과 유럽을 중심으로 활동하였다.

이들이 세계적인 인기를 얻기 시작한 것은 1996년 <Traveling Without Moving> 앨범을 통해서였고, 1999년에 발표한 <Synkronized> 앨범에서는 Funk와 Disco 등 댄스리듬과 비트가 강조된 Jamiroquai 스타일의 음악이 자리를 잡는다.

오늘 가사 검열할 노래 “Canned Heat”는 1999년 <Synkronized> 앨범 수록곡 중 하나인데, 이 노래는 특히 영화 <Center Stage>(2000), <Napoleon Dynamite>(2004) 등에 삽입되어 우리에게 더욱 친숙한 곡이기도 하다.

준비한 동영상 첫 번째는 영화 <Napoleon Dynamite>에서 Napoleon이 친구 Pedro의 학생회장 선거 지원을 위해 “Canned Heat”에 맞춰 춤을 추는 장면이고, 두 번째는 Jamiroquai의 연주실황이다.
